I am a proud member of the VBCERT team here in Virginia Beach, VA. We are a force of over 700 citizens who have taken a series of classes on how to take care of ourselves before, during and after a disaster here in out city. You to can become a member by attending a series of 10 classes held in the evenings ate the Va. Beach Fire Training Center and taking a hands on practical on the final day of class. You take classes in Search and Rescue, Basic First Aid, Personnel Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety, Terrorism Classes, CPR, Disaster Psychology and others. All of this is FREE and FEMA even gives you equipment to use and keep for yourself.
